Why Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris is My Forever Favorite
Move over Crillon, Ritz, Bulgari, and even Cheval Blanc.
This month, Travel + Leisure named Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris the Best City Hotel in Paris, a title that placed it ahead of some of the city’s most legendary addresses. As someone who has long called Fauchon her Parisian home, I can’t help but smile at this well-deserved spotlight.
This post is an update to one I wrote last March, but it feels more relevant than ever. I’ve just returned from another unforgettable stay at Fauchon, and I’m reminded all over again why this is the only place I check into in the City of Light.
A Personal Parisian Ritual
My history with Fauchon began in early 2020, just before the world changed. Since then, it’s become more than a hotel to me. It’s my sanctuary. My sweet spot between indulgent luxury and warm familiarity. It’s where I stay. And it’s where I confidently send my clients when they’re looking for something elevated, polished, and just a touch unexpected.
Holiday Magic in the Heart of Paris
One of my most recent visits was this past December, when Paris was fully dressed for the holidays and Fauchon was glowing with festive flair. Think: sparkling windows, pink and gold décor, and the scent of pastries and perfume wafting through the air. Like walking into a storybook with better lighting and champagne on tap.
Effortless Elegance, the Fauchon Way
Fauchon isn’t your standard five-star. There’s no standing at a check-in desk. Instead, you’re ushered into a cozy library lounge, offered a glass of champagne, a perfect espresso, and a few signature Fauchon macarons.
After a delayed arrival from Barbados, I walked into my suite to find my luggage already waiting and my favorite snacks artfully arranged. I headed straight to the spa for their “Desired Massage,” which melted away every ounce of travel stress.
The next morning, over coffee with Marion from the concierge desk, we restructured my entire Paris itinerary to make up for lost time. By the time I returned to my room, she had printed out my new schedule, tucked it into one of Fauchon’s iconic pink envelopes, and included every ticket and detail. Elegant. Efficient. Effortless.

As I write this, I’m back in Fauchon’s library, sipping a vodka martini and soaking in a quiet Parisian evening. Tomorrow, I’ll venture back into the city, but tonight, I’m exactly where I want to be.
À demain, from the best hotel in Paris.
