Travel Advisory: Middle East Unrest and Cruise Impacts

As political unrest continues to unfold in parts of the Middle East, the Culture Traveler team is closely monitoring the situation and its potential impact on both air and cruise travel. Our priority is ensuring you remain informed and prepared as conditions evolve.

Regions Most Affected

  • Israel, particularly Tel Aviv and surrounding areas

  • Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and the Red Sea corridor

  • Select ports in Egypt and Jordan may experience heightened security or itinerary modifications

Flight Updates

  • Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) in Israel is gradually reopening, with limited commercial service resuming and full operations expected by late June.

  • Airspace over Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, and Jordan has reopened. Major carriers including El Al and Air India have resumed flights.

  • Iraq, Iran, and Syria remain under airspace restrictions.

Cruise Itinerary Impacts

  • Cruise lines are actively adjusting sailings to ensure guest safety, rerouting or substituting calls to Haifa, Ashdod, and certain Red Sea ports.

  • Itineraries including Israel, Jordan, or Egypt may experience changes.

  • Red Sea sailings continue to operate with enhanced safety protocols in place.
