Peru in Focus: A Journey of Culture, History, and Heart
Over the past ten days, we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Peru through the lens of an expertly curated Abercrombie & Kent small group tour—and what a journey it has been. From the vibrant streets of Lima to the breathtaking serenity of the Sacred Valley, the iconic majesty of Machu Picchu, and now the historic charm of Cusco, Peru has revealed itself as a country of immense beauty, culture, and soul.
Each destination brought its own magic. Lima offered a cosmopolitan edge, with world-renowned cuisine and a lively arts scene. The Sacred Valley surrounded us with peaceful landscapes and ancient Incan ruins that hint at centuries of spiritual significance. Machu Picchu, of course, was a dream realized—unforgettable in every way.
Now in Cusco, we find ourselves immersed in a city that feels like a living museum. Rich with both Incan and Colonial Spanish heritage, the city is a feast for the senses: historic churches, vibrant markets, artisan shops, and winding cobblestone streets. We’ve loved the opportunity to connect with the warm and welcoming locals, explore architectural wonders, and indulge in regional specialties—all while staying in some of the country’s most luxurious accommodations.
This journey through Peru has far exceeded our expectations, blending adventure with comfort, learning with leisure. As we reflect on our time here, one thing is certain: we look forward to returning in 2027 to continue uncovering the richness this remarkable country has to offer.
