Cruising the Nile: Ama Lilia

We are ready to cruise the Nile River with AmaWaterways. Everything we experienced in the museums will now truly come to life as we step foot into the temples and historic sites these artifacts once called home. Today, we move from The St. Regis Cairo to a floating home.

Ama Lilia is AmaWaterways’ newest gem on the Nile, launched in spring 2024 and designed to carry just 82 guests in style and comfort. With 41 staterooms, including 13 suites and an Owner’s Suite at 522 square feet, the ship offers spacious accommodations. Many cabins feature twin balconies, perfect for taking in sweeping river views.

Onboard, guests find plenty of amenities to unwind: a sun-deck pool and bar, fitness center, hair and nail salon, massage room, as well as public spaces like a lounge and library. Dining is a delight, with a Main Restaurant serving regional and Western fare and a specialty Chef’s Table restaurant offering indulgent evenings with panoramic views and Egyptian cuisine.

What truly sets Ama Lilia apart is the service. The attentive crew, expert Egyptologists—Walaa Gamal and the marvelous Marwa Abbas—immersive learning opportunities, nightly entertainment, and a pace that allows you to soak in every moment of ancient Egypt without rushing make this journey unforgettable.

We soon set sail for our first stop, the incredible Valley of the Kings.
